not understanding russia

You cannot have a ‘dialogue’ with Russia without understanding what it is! Russia is still a mediaeval empire lamenting the fall of Constantinople in 1453! It has been in a state of paranoia and crippling feeling of inferiority to the west since it was created. Its dark ideology of panslavist nationalism keeps the paranoia alive among a population that has always been in various levels of serfdom. They are not bad people. They are very difficult to talk to according to ‘western’ norms of logic and tradition. They are NOT western and neither they want to be. C’est ça! Simple. UK and USA encouraging Ukraine to fight a fight they can’t win without consulting EU, who has a much closer historic experience with the Russian Bear, apparently to help them is truly rotten and dangerous. France and Germany are trying to tell the little boys Zelenskyy and Putler to sit down while our Swine-Clown Crime Minister keeps beating drums of war he is not prepared to fight himself... ordinary Ukrainians and their beautiful country are being destroyed in the meantime.
