pretty rishi

So we enter the Rishitime! The Tories have a grip on the country for another two years and can do what they want regardless of 12 years of disasters! This is the 'system' that claims to be democratic despite being an elected dictatorship that changes hands between two parties, enabling them to impose their will even if they don't have the majority of the vote. However, the faintest suggestion that UK is not a proper democracy will be be dismissed with a typical snooty attitude by most Brits, who are simply convinced that they are the most fantastic nation in history and will try to find some personal fault with you for criticising them. The weird thing is, most of them aren't even aware they're doing this. Even I have caught myself having a similar attitude, which isn't that strange considering that I've lived here longer than anywhere else.

While the main discourse in the country about the appointment revolves about his Hinduism and ethnicity, trying to portray it as a progressive thing, most people fail to mention that he WAS NOT elected by the membership, who chose a white woman despite the obvious indications that Rishi was the most qualified man. The whole thing is somewhere between tawdry and farcical!

His speech was full of muted bravado, trying to set himself as some kind of a new saviour or the sinking ship. The war in Ukraine was mentions as was the B-word; apparently he will unleash the the Brexit potential!! My prediction is that he will try to tone the whole thing down whilst trying to negotiate some mega trade deal with India and other emerging markets, which may work but which will come with strings that will send the typical flag waving Brexiteers into new levels of frenzy... He is probably reasonable enough not to tickle the patriotic groins too much as we have seen how much damage it can cause by the rattling empty vessels of Englandom. I think he will fail because he is looking to bring back old paradigms and ideas, which clearly haven't been working for a very long time but his crash will be slower. The Tories are horrified with their current poll ratings so they are likely to pretend to be united.

That outgoing Boadicea gave a stupid speech about believing in Britain and her future... bla bla bla . The panto continues. we shall see.
