The Vampire-inChief, Jacob Rees-Mogg was on today’s travelling circus that is broadcast weekly on Radio Four desperately trying to keep the flames of delusion still flickering in the minds of the populace, which seems to have realised that the whole thing was a monumental mistake! He was mostly laughed at but still carried on with his zombie patriotism, talking about taking control as if anyone cared about his stupid sovereignty.
So this is Britain today - divided in three camps, which is a progress from the previous two! Leavers, who still fly the flag and dream of the Empire shining through the the sea of delusion and exceptionalism, the Remainers( and regretful leavers), who still hate Brexit just as before (if not more) then there is the new group, Remainers who now want to ‘get on with it’ in some kind of a new form of self-delusion! Needless to say, they have no idea what is there to be getting on with or we need to go.. it’s a chin-up sort of attitude, marching forward in full knowledge they’re in a dead end! In some ways, this is the group I feel most sorry for. Refusing to check the facts was always the biggest problem and cause of the vote…. I also understand them; it’s natural not to want to give up, even heroic in a stupid kimd of way but this is not a time for heroes.
The divisions will, carry on. The cracks will widen. The Jacobs of this world will offer puffed up patriotism to keep the dam standing, the Remainers will shout ‘we told you so’ and th3 third group will continue dreaming and believing in their fantasy, with best interests at heart…
