What a great week in Valencia. A great city with great history, food and culture. Everything seemed more positive, more gentle, good humoured. The Spanish are a great welcoming nation to hordes of all sorts. Their pride is there but a healthier version than the stupid kind of pride you sometimes see in England, France and Itaky..,
Apart from an incident if the police targeting black people on the beach, which we got quite furious about all was good. Spain, in general, is a great country with an amazing but also painful history; clearly, not all the Fascists have disappeared but are usually kept well out of sight, while we have Tories, who are fascist in mind and policy though much sneakier and experienced.
First day in UK felt depressing and hopeless. The News sound like we are in on an egg timer set on self-destruction. The sooner I leave the better.
