The shame of the country continues. The Tories are cutting the last capillaries of decency of this nation.
Having made it illegal for anyone to ever claim a safe haven in a country that is most likely to have destabilised their country of birth, they have just announced they have signed a deal with Rwanda to fly asylum seekers there for a resettlement ‘where they can benefit from that country’s economic boom’ (or something along those lines). This most heartless so called policy is in direct breach of the Geneva Convention, but we don’t care anymore because this government has already shown it is prepared to break international law. UK is becoming an evil pariah state run by bloodsucking vampires. It’s on a path of fascism and decline.
The most painful thing in this is not the act itself but the fact that it will have support in the population, which has been pushed into a xenophobic paranoia. It pains me to breathe the same air as these people but my cladded prison won’t allow me to leave. Britain’s future is not good, we all know but does it have to go down in great shame? Who would have thought we’d come to this.
The only hope is that this evil act will not be realised because there is a good legal basis to oppose sending people in a country where they had a genocide not that long ago and which is currently under a dictatorship. This is seeking headlines and fanfare in the right wing press, which is the poison of England.
