Today the Psycho President performed the usual acts of nationalist tawdry drama. Al, dictators seem to love this kind of cheap performance with a wreath, but, which, sadly, seem to hit the chord with a certain proportion of the populace, who prefer to believe the false narrative of their heroic nation because not believing it would raise too many questions, mainly about their own mediocre but more often miserable lives.
The perverseness of it all is that Putin keeps saying he is fighting a Nazism whilst behaving exactly like one. Russians are either too scared to challenge the charade or too brainwashed/deluded/desperate… or perhaps all toed things at once.
The leaders of the so called west have also ramped up the retro tic, as if we’ve never done anything shameful… the West refuses to understand Russia and her Pshycho president, which will prolong this agony, mainly for the Ukrainians who are bearing the brunt of the rabid Russian bear…
There is very little awareness of how angry so many parts of the world are with the west, in most cases quite rightly so because of this imposed world order that has kept the west in a dominating position for over 400 years due to a combination of scientific advancement, dirty tricks and pillaging, slavery, endless wars on nations that were considered inferior… (despite belonging to some of the oldest civilisations)…
There is no doubt the power dynamics are shifting, and perhaps they should, but I fear that it’s all going backwards… instead of working together to eradicate inequality, disease, education, etc, humanity is regrouping in new polarised centres of power at the expense of freedom, cooperation, and advancement.
As much as I loathe some of the usual nasty tricks of cutthroat capitalism in the west, we simply must defend our freedoms at all cost as the alternative is too frightening… I hope China won’t start playing silly buggers too because they have real power. Russia is just an injured old beast causing disruption.
